The 7th Theater Festival HIN & WEG. Days for contemporary theater entertainment will take place in Litschau from August 9 to 18, 2024 . It will focus on the highly topical issues of “SHARING” and “IDENTITY”.
The question of one’s own identity and that of the group is omnipresent and affects each and every one of us. By changing roles and identifying with fictional characters, theater can be a motor for the development of one’s own empathy and thus contribute to the sharpening of identity, one’s own and that of the other person.
One of the most important global political concepts of the future is sharing. This is because the greatest challenges of our time lie in the fair distribution of available resources among all people. This also includes the sharing of information and knowledge through to the global integration of artificial intelligence, which will be an artistic topic of discussion at HIN & WEG 2024 in terms of “sharing identity(ies)”.
As in previous years, the focus is on theater productions with premieres, guest performances and premieres at the Herrenseetheater, Theaterhaus MOMENT, BRAUHAUSstadl and at unusual locations in the city. Kitchen readings in private homes, author readings, staged readings of new plays, the matinees “Fellingers Früh.Stück” with renowned discussion guests, the literary prologue by Katharina Stemberger in the Teelöffel Lounge, radio plays, theatrical walks, fire talks and the evening concerts curated by Sigrid Horn in succession to Ernst Molden deepen the festival theme and round off the program. Between the two festival weekends, theater workshops will take place as usual.
